Thrilling 'Are You Smarter Than a Gaston County Fifth Grader?' Event Raises $47,000

This year's Are You Smarter Than a Gaston County Fifth Grader?” held February 8 at Stuart W. Cramer High School showcased the knowledge and teamwork of local schools and community business partners, generating excitement and raising approximately $47,000 for teacher grants.

The Gaston County Educational Foundation organized the event, which featured spirited competition among schools and their business partners.

Kiser Elementary and their business partner, NexGen, claimed first place, impressing everyone with their expertise.  Rankin Elementary and Clariant secured second place, while New Hope Elementary and CaroMont Health finished third.

Tindol Subaru made a significant impact with a donation of more than $12,800 through their Share the Love campaign.

The funds raised will support grants benefiting teachers, enhancing educational opportunities for students throughout Gaston County.

The event highlighted the strong collaboration between schools and local businesses, emphasizing the community’s commitment to education.
